Obviously Cain and Bale recognize a great script when they see it. It doesn't matter if a guy has to wear tights in a film or if he does magic. If it's a good script, you'll attract good actors to the roles.

My opinion is good enough script to support two actors of their calibre.

Because they have a good chemistry together in front of the camera's amybe...and it's actually not all that uncommon.
