We did a "This is your life" type birthday for my step dad's 60th.
Contacted all his relations/friends, took copies of their photographs to put into the book & also on disc.
Borrowed a cine film so he could watch all his "growing up films" He really loved it & it was great for the rest of the family.
We also had a 50's rock & roll fancy dress too.
He said the "This is your life book" was the gretest present he'd ever had, as it brought all great memories flooding back & it was something he could cherish for the ever.

If it's a woman turning 60 then, she would problelly like a big green emerald and gold flower pin. If it's a man then he might like
a razor or a nice card with an all silver Irish Clatter ring.

i admire the belief of having her something diamondy, because of the fact she would be in a position to look at it and bypass - my daughter have been given this extra me for my sixtieth birthday. yet remeber which you're her daughter and it is the variety of specific bond - do something very own aswell. according to probability you could dig up some previous photos and make a slide instruct for her social gathering, or slightly or wall paintings which would be a college of imagery of her and your loved ones etc. Diamonds are high quality, yet no longer very very own. My mum is turning 50 quickly and that i want to take her to a expert photographer's studio and get some snapshots of me and her. Your mum will probable love notwithstanding you get her!

A day out off road driving, skydiving or bungy jumping - before they get too old to enjoy it.
Or a weekend away in a log cabin in wales (check the internet) for the more sedate.

Hiya! See if you can get any of your special person's old cine film (pre-video tape!) and have it put onto a DVD or video for them. Or you could get a special old photo restored beautifully and put in a nice frame. There are places that specialise in this service, you'd have to look in Yellow Pages or online. Hope this helps! x x x

If the person is game for a laugh do what I did last year to my husband's aunt. I bought her a glasses chain, shower cap, shopping trolley and anything else you can associate with a retired person. Unfortunately you can no longer get pension book holders!

I would give a 60 year old person jewelry like a watch or a necklace or earrings. Something that is that person's fave.

A day out. Dinner. Or even one of those "Once in a lifetime" gift boxes from Boots.
