I am not a Tiger fan but they have one guy that was just so clutch the whole year and that was Craig Monroe. He hit many clutch homers and I recall he beat the Yankees in the 9th inning last season with a killer homer.

I got an interesting one for ya. How about Lance Berkman? All you've heard about in the past year is Pujols this and Howard that well how about Berkman : .304 Avg, .416 OBP, .567 SLG, 45 HR not to mention 136 RBI and 95 runs on an otherwise weak offense. WIth runners in scoring position, he had an on base % of .527 and a slugging % of .763! I know Berkman finished third in MVP voting but nobody talks about him which makes him the most underrated player in baseball.

Albert Pujols. Yet again he is robbed of an M.V.P. award because someone hits more homeruns (Ryan Howard) or in the case of Barry Bonds has a higher on-base percentage and slugging percentage. Albert should have won the NL M.V.P. award in 2003, 2004 and 2006 no question about it. He has meant more to the Cardinals and baseball than any other player not named Jeter, A-Rod, or Ortiz. A very underrated player for sure and by far the most underrated since he came into the majors.

Travis Hafner has tremendous power, and he has never been on an All-Star team. He may play DH but he gives it his all every game. Ryan Freel is also very underrated, he's not going to be a Hall of Famer, but he has All-Star potential. Another that comes to mind is Lsnce Berkman, he just hit 40 homers, and yet no one knows who he is. Some others include: Garret Atkins and Matt Holliday, two promising Rockies who had fantastic 2006 campaigns.

It has to be Robinson Cano. The guy is a young second baseman who can flat out RAKE. The guy missed 6 weeks of the season and still had 41 doubles. He is a doubles machine. He kills righty pitchers, plays solid second base defense, and is only 24 years old. Oh, and he finished with a .342 Batting Average. Yet no one talks about him.

I have to agree with joe mama on this one. When I first saw your question Melky Cabrera is the first person who came to my mind. I was watching a Yankee game (a Classic) this past weekend and it was a game against the BoSox where Melky robbed Manny of the homerun. Melky did so much for the Yankees last year when Matsui and Sheff were out. He has alot of potential. I hope that the Yankees keep him.

Melky Cabrera because he has done soo much for the Yankees like replacing Matsui and Sheffield by doing almost as much as they would do. They talk about Andrew Jones and Barry Bonds when Melky is doing better than both of them combined. Now, they're thinking about trading him which is worse.

Carlos Zambrano of the Cubs.
He has the potential to win twenty games but he is just not recognized.
Often he is overshadowed because
1. The Cubs haven't been winning much lately
2. Kerry Wood and Mark Prior
Wood and Prior are said to be better, but they have been injured and really have not proven as valuable.
I believe that he has nasty stuff and that he should surely be recognized as one of the best in the game.
