Complaints like this make me so sad. People shun Elton John's music for the same reason, even though he really is a good artist.
Why does it matter? You're making some judgement that you couldn't possibly look up to Triumph any more just because of his sexual orientation.
I know tons of straight male artists who look up to Leonardo da Vinci despite the fact that he was a homosexual. As a culture we should be more accepting, and it starts with YOU.

The fellow who said it sells more comics is correct. If I may add one thing to that, it would be only that Triumph would be just as good a hero if her were heterosexual. Homosexuality does not make him a better hero. The same goes for art, science literature, whatever field you can think of.
The only thing—the ONLY thing that being homosexual makes a person better at, is performing homosexual acts. Is there any logical flaw in this?
I am not dealing with people who have homosexual ‘curiosity’ or ‘feelings’ but those who actually participate in homosexual practices.
Many people have said that homosexual practitioners are just as good as heterosexual practitioners. But if you stop to think about it, that means they are NO BETTER THAN heterosexual practitioners. They do everything except make babies with the opposite sex and pass their genes on. Is there any logical flaw in this?
If homosexual practitioners were voluntarily refraining from making babies, because they did not want to pass on some defective genes… I repeat, if they were voluntarily editing themselves out of the human race’s gene pool to protect us all, then they would be doing something praiseworthy, for which everybody would thank them.
THEN they might have an excuse to say that homosexuality or homosexual practices had something that was inherently worthwhile. But they have no excuse. They keep saying that homosexual practitioners are Just As Good As heterosexual practitioners, which as we have seen means that homosexual practitioners are NO BETTER THAN heterosexual practitioners. Is there any logical flaw in this?
The fact remains that they are Not Very Good At marrying persons of the opposite sex and actually making babies-- instead of just going through the motions.
If homosexual practitioners want to say that they are Just As Good As heterosexual practitioners, they will have to prove it. The same way everybody else does it. By getting married to people of the opposite sex and making babies. If they claim that homosexual practices are better than heterosexual practices, that is just sour grapes. If that was true, the human race would have given up on heterosexual practices generations ago! Is there any logical flaw in this?
And a person can’t just ‘try it and see’ because trying it—makes a person a homosexual practitioner! Is that not the definition of a homosexual practitioner, one who does it?
I feel sorry for the first answerer, who tried to scold you. She seems to have a large bump of compassion, but I fear it is misplaced. She seems to have fallen for the “I want what I want and I’m going to throw a tantrum until I get it” mentality. I don’t see how she can go against logic.
Unfortunately, because of the huge political clout that homosexual practitioners have these days, many people in the entertainment and news industries these days are beholden toward them and try to curry favor with them. The days when being suspected of being a homosexual practitioner was harmful to one’s reputation and career are gone. Nowadays, many jump on the bandwagon, just to gain a share of the intimidating political power that homosexual practitioners have. This does not mean that they ever actually perform homosexual acts, they are just trying to pass and get a piece of the political power for themselves, to get people to defer to them and fear criticizing them. Perhaps many in the homosexual community fall into this category. But it is probably impossible to test them and determine whether they have ever actually performed homosexual acts in the past.
Rest assured, you are not alone. The vast majority of comics fans prefer masculine and feminine super heroes. Triumph will probably be forgotten, one of these days. It is too bad. He could have been such a mensch.

The long and short it sells books.
Every time in the past when DC or Marvel trotted out a gay character it hit the news, it created controversy, and sold books.
That is the long and short of it.
