To move out at 18/19 or go to university/college, what's a good age to start saving your money? Or should it be as soon as you get your first job?

Oh, if it may help, I'm 14. Just starting high school.

At the minimum you should be saving when you get your first job - but it would be even better to start saving with your first allowance! Of course, there will be other "priorities" along the way (toys, vacations, etc.), but a small portion should always go towards the future - whatever that may be.

As soon as you are born. But, as soon as you can. Get a Savings Account NOW!!!! You may need your parents to help as you will need one on the Account because of your age. Discuss the various Accounts with your bank. Once the Account open, put what money you can into the account every month. Set your goal for at least 10% of any money you get goes to your savings, more when you can.
What would have been nice was when "Google" went public with their Stock and your parents could have bought you about 10 Shares, would have cost about $800 and then just left it alone.

NOW! Always save a portion of ANY money you get. Put away at least half of any cash gift you get for holidays. This gives you some spending, but gets you in the habit of saving and you will need the cash when you move out more than you need it now or anytime during highschool.
