i am helping my sister potty train her daughter.... and out of curiousity-why do we look at the toliet paper after we wipe?

People look at the tissue after they wipe, to make sure the tissue is clear of any colors. If the tissue is white, you are okay to pull up your pants. If it has colors, you wipe again. Then the process repeats. Wipe, Look, Wipe or Wipe, Look, Pull up Pants.
To avoid all that, I make it simple by first wiping with tissue, then with a flushable moist wipe, and I follow through with a fresh piece of tissue. I leave the bathroom feeling fresh every time!
PS. Don't forget to wash your hands when you're done!!!!

In all seriousness, we taught our kids to look so that they know if things are clean or not. If the paper isn't clean, they wipe again until it is!
