Two people came to my house,one had a collection tin in her hand.They looked at me and began to shake the tin,they then said, ''Dr Barnardos Home,''to which I replied, ''Is he,? I didn't even know he'd been away!They gave me a dirty look and stormed off!Have i done anything wrong?

Dr Barnado first opened a school in 1867 in the East End of London to give poor children basic education. In 1870 he opened his first home for boys in Stepney. Today there are many homes all over the UK and they are the leading UK's Childrens Charity. My Father was brought up in a Barnardo's home when his parents died. Here is a link to give more info.
