in fact they chased me away ---because they said i`d stood on a patch of something or other that belonged to them

I was in Paris on the Metro and there was a woman singing that song for money. I can't tell you how many times she sang that song over and over (it's apparently the only one she knew) until I finally got to my station. It was stuck in my head for days. Thanks...now it's going to get stuck again!!! ;)
