to work for my sound c
ard i had conexant/riptide and it doesnt support that what can i do?????????? and this is a desktop pc and i cant afford windows xp or vista

It sounds like it the sound card doesn't suport windows 2000, you can check the comuters manufactures website or call them. A new sound card you can get for about 50$ for a cheap one, ask the sales person or make sure if you buy it online it will support windows 2000.

Um....Windows 2000 is not an upgrade from anything. It's got the worst hardware support of any OS. A lot of hardware doesn't have drivers written for it. You'd have better luck with XP.

Go to driversguide. com and there you should be able to find drivers for your sound card!
