i have a toshiba laptop that will not boot up.. seems like some kind of power loss. anyone have any clue? i think it might be a battery problem. will a laptop get power if the battery is dead? even if u have the ac adapter?

Try taking out the battery and starting it. A bad batter can keep the computer from powering up.

The problem could be the AC adaptor itself... mine broke, so I couldn't charge it up anymore, meaning it had no power and wouldn't boot up, and I had to buy one over the internet for $80. If this is the case, you should look at the AC adaptor to see what type it is, and then check on the internet to see how much that will cost.

if you plug it in with out the battery it still should boot up so its not the battery. could be power supply overheated and blow out.
