Even though Tomlinson broke all those records, I don't think he deserved the MVP. Drew Brees has done wonders for the Saints, making the struggling Saints to Superbowl contenders.

I think Brees and Tomlinson were both legitimate picks for the MVP. I think it was nearly impossible for the MVP to come out of the NFC this year. Whether it's fair or not, the MVP has tended to be the best player on the best team. It's difficult to give the MVP to any player on a 10-6 team in an extremely underachieving division.

Nope, the MVP went to the most deserving player this year.
You can't really call Brees' year a comeback though, he had a really good season the last year in San Diego and didn't get hurt until the last game of the season. Pennington has missed most of the last 2 years and no one expected him to be the starter, or to stay healthy all year and make the playoffs.

Chad Pennington??? What??? Yes, he has had a great season, but probably the biggest comeback of NFL history is Drew Brees and his MVP-like season. From worthless with a rotten shoulder to leading a team from zeroes to heroes. Wow!!! What a season. This guy was not just a comeback player candidate, but a true MVP candidate...and he got blanked??? That's ridiculous. He has made this season very exciting...with games to come...

Of course Brees was amazing. He was on my fantasy team and was consistently superb. But, no matter how you stack it up, LDT just had one of those years like Dickerson and Marino in '84, Sanders in '97, and Manning in '04, that people will talk about for as long as the NFL exists. He shattered the touchdown record and broke a season scoring record that had existed for about 40 years. Almost any other year and Brees would have it locked down.
Hey, at least the NFC Super Bowl spot is yours to lose! Maybe they can settle who's best on the field in February.

Here's how I think it should have been:
League MVP - Tomlinson (no doubt)
Comeback Player - Drew Brees
Offensive MVP - Tomlinson (again no doubt)
Defensive MVP - Champ Bailey
Offensive Rookie of the Year - Maurice Jones-Drew
Defensive Rookie of the Year - DeMeco Ryans (a good choice)

In any other year, Brees would probably have won it. But Tomlinson put up XBox stats this year. I also don't consider Brees a comeback player since he had a good season lasts year.

Yes. There are other humans ticked about the NFL MVP choice and the Comeback Player of the Year choice.

LT deserved it but there were some really good players that would have won it any other year like Brees.

If you are a Steelers fan you should be more ticked off by the choice for offensive rookie of the year. Santonio Holmes was very deserving of that award in spite of a few early fumbles this year.
