I have a female spouse that's a little overweight. Do you have any suggestions as to what to get her? She also has a low self-esteem. I figure if I could get her something, it would bring her up! Has anybody tried the body shaper items??

Please DO NOT get her any body shaper items. Those are to wear under clothes in order to hide unwanted bulges. Try something simple like a long black slip. Make sure it isn't to form fitting. You want to make sure it will hang without clinging to her body. If your not comfortable with picking it out then give her a gift certificate to Victoria's Secret and let her pick out her own. Good luck. And by the way I think it is pretty sweet to be concerend over her in this way :)

I would say a babydoll. They're kinda tight and lacey at the top, and then they flow away from the body in a skirt. It's a very flattering look. I'm big myself, and that's the lingerie that looks the best on me. Teddys don't fit right, but babydolls make me feel sexy. No matter what she wears, tell her how hot she looks. There are lots of sites that have lingerie for heavier people. Just google plus size lingerie. I think giving her body shaping lingerie would send the wrong message. Like you agree that she's fat. You don't want to go there. Buy her something that makes her feel sexy. That will boost her self esteem.

Don't get body shaper items--this could make her feel more insecure about her weight (the fact that you feel she NEEDS something to hide/shape her body can be hurtful). I'm a little chubby (size large...except right now I'm pregnant...) and I know that if my husband tried to find me any fitted lingerie it probably wouldn't fit right or be my taste (I'm picky)...so a safe thing to buy that would show you care and think she's sexy would be something like a satin robe or a slip (http://www2.victoriassecret.com/collection/?cgname=OSSLPCHEZZZ&cgnbr=OSSLPCHEZZZ&rfnbr=696)
from victoria's secret that accentuates her bust, but doesn't draw attention to her waist (many larger girls have bigger breasts and feel good about them...but not about their belly...)

You are to be commended for your thoughtfulness. Lingerie comes in many styles. I would suggest that you go to the Victoria Secret counter and tell them your dilemma. The lady's at the counter will be awed by your sentiment. They can help you pick out just the right outfit. This is truly an example of: you will reap what you sow. Good luck!

NO DUDE....You are going the ABSOLUTE wrong way.
If she has self esteem issues then making her feel sexy when she may feel fat is like calling her fat....DON'T DO IT.
It is time for some pampering. Take her to a movie, let her get away from her own mind. Let her relax. ....The one thing she may REALLY want is your attention.
Plan this all out, I swear to you man, it works
If you have any children, get them to grandma's or a friends house and plan them to stay over night.
Give her a bubble bath, and go all out. LOTS of bubbles... will make her feel like she is wearing someting and will not feel wierd being "fat" infront of you. Bring in some really soft music and of course, candles....lots of them (about 12-15)
And OPPS,,, how did this bottle of her favorite wine get here....and a cork screw....and 2 classes....
Leave her alone for about 30 min and let her soak.
Come back after a while and offer to wash her back.....when she startes smiling, be really slow....YOU are on a mission, she is thinking foreplay....

Dispence with all the answers that will make her think about worrying about you...keep the focus on her...remember, she is loving all this attention...and to her. It is foreplay.

i wouldnt dobody shaper stuff, it will just sqish out the fat to other places. get her plus sized lengerie, and make sure it fits as not to squeeze any of the extra weight (ie love handles) just let her know that once shes in it, u cant wait to get her out of it.

Your screwed...If she does not feel good about herself, lingerie will not help.....Your probably just wanting it for your own pleasure.....If she does not ask for some lingerie and you want her to wear it, it will not be worth it.....I did the same thing and the only thing she did was complain about her roll and try to cover it the whole time we were having sex.....

Don't Do that unless you want a fight. Go shopping with her and tell her which looks better on her as she models it for you......Victoria's Secret will allow you to go into the dressing room.

Don't go about it that way; take her out shopping and let her choose, then tell her which one you like IF she asks. She has to be comfortable first, once she's comfy then she can be sexy.
