It's a LOT of money for not much gains. A good one will cost 200-400, but still much cheaper than a turbo which is in the 1000's. It is washable, saves gas milage, and does give a barely noticable performance gain. If you keep the car for another 100k miles, the gas and money on air filters you save may add up to he cost of the unit. You would get a slightly larger benefit from going with a better muffler and it sounds cool.

That depends on the price. Even if the manufacturer tells you that you will gain 8 -12 extra horsepower, they are blowing smoke up your tailpipe. If you can find one for under $50 with a heat preventative box around it,(thats the only way you are intaking "less heated" air), or a downword hose that actually places the cone under the bumper, buy it. It looks good in the engine bay, and whenever you remove the cars factory air filter system, you can actually hear your car suck air while accelerating. Which is damn cool.

no, CAI sucks on any car. even mated with a decent exhaust system, it still sucks. get a turbo, supercharger if you want to see and feel a big difference.
