THIS IS WHAT YOU DO IF YOU WANT TO BECOME AN ACTRESS FOR TV/FILM/COMMERCIAL:

First and foremost, choose a headshot photographer. (Unless you have a pretty good camera you can take snapshots with... I got an agent with snapshots). Look in your local phonebook under photographers and choose one you like best. Call and set up an appointment and make sure to bring a bunch of different outfits. After you see the pictures, choose a few you like the most, and boom, you have headshots.

Secondly, compose a resume. It should list your name, birthdate, height, weight, eye & hair colors, theater, comercials, film, TV, print, TRAINING, education, awards, and special skills.

Third, refer to the phonebook and search for "talent agencies". If no results show up, look online for "YOUR CITY Talent Agents". Choose about 4 or 5 talent agencies to submit to. How do you submit? Keep on reading!

Fourth, compose a "coverletter" to include in your submission. Your coverletter should include the highlights of your performing experience, stuff you like to do, and why you want to act.

FINALLY, compose your submission. Purchase large envelopes and adress them to each agency. In each envelope, include a printed COLOR headshot on 8x10 glossy paper, a resume, and a coverletter in front.

If you get a call, be prepared to have a monologue ready to show the agency what you can do!

THIS IS HOW I GOT MY AGENT! GOOD LUCK!

I'm only going to say this once, coz there are many other spoilt little rich girls like your self who think there special and if you believe what the Talley has taught you for so many years you will.
well sorry love but it ain't going to happen. and its not just a strait answers like "go to drama schools" "learn acting" bollocks, drama schools suck the very soul you create with
. that pity bit of paper means sh!t, iv been to many places and never once been asked to show any certificates. your monologue is your meal ticket.
and your monologue should NOT BE CLUELESS or anything Else that has bean performed 1000s of times before you, and probably still be getting performed another 1000 after you.
you either are a born performer or your not, and as a rule, as a fact being an actor, artist, performer, what ever you want to call one self, most of the time your working dam hard, long hours, and longer nights, and you all ways prity much seem to be skint. and the whole fame thing doesn't even enter it.
more like a unsung hero.
want a tip, observe, read, PERFORM. perform on the streets perform in the town centre, perform every where and no where. you can take any empty space and call it a theatre.

no quick answers
no fix it quick, unless your ritch.
you have to start at the bottom, and chose what ever road takes yor fancy.

It's all about selling yourself. You need to have a complete marketing package including resume, headshot and reviews of shows, plays, films, etc. that you have been involved in. You need a talent agent. An agent can get you into places and infront of people that make casting decisions.

The real question is what have you done as an actress? Have you performed before? If not, then I suggest auditioning for local productions first. Cut your teeth in community theatre if you can make it there then you can work your way up. Build your resume and separate yourself from the crowd. You will also need to become a member of the actor's guild. If you can become a union member that opens a lot of doors.

I am a member of AGMA (American Guild of Musical Artists) and because of my status with that union I have been able to work in other unions areas for places such as PBS and film studios. The union status in most cases is transferrable....

Remember that in the end .... it's all Heart!

If you really want to get started, you have to try out for local plays, see what is avaible in your area and just work on increasing your resume. After a while someone will come up to you and make you an offer, or they may see you in a show and want to sign you. If neither of those two work, you can try and find a HONEST (not trying to scam you) agent and submit your resume to them with a headshot . Either way, you will have a good background for acting with the plays you might have done by that point. Also you can fix any weak points you may have before you try the big time inlocal thearter. Just try to continually improve. And I promise you can trust me, I am also an acctress trying to make it (not famous, just enough to act for a living)

i'm going to be blunt. you're no longer likely to be a sought after actress. the opportunities are extraordinarily stacked against you. bypass get lunch in la, and you will meet better than one actress/waitress who needs to be the subsequent megastar. To be hassle-free, your odds are even worse. Now that Sandra Bullock is a megastar, she would be in a position to be choosy approximately what she does. An actor who has no longer made it vast takes any and each conceivable place, hoping to get observed. If which ability making a track on a cat nutrients commericial, you do it. in uncomplicated terms being in one instruct isn't a stable initiate. some sought after actors make vast money, yet something won't be in a position to even help themselves with appearing. Are you going to be the single in a million who hits it vast? probable no longer. in case you bypass the scientific song, you additionally could make a stable residing. whether you won't be in a position to extremely make it into scientific college, you could bypass to PA college or NP college or get your MSN, and you will make a stable residing.

you have to get into theater!!!!! i am almost really sick of this question. the only way you can get into movies is if you have experience. start auditioning for shows in your area. and remeber, rejection is a big part of show biz.
