why do preps always think someone that's not a prep is some creapy little person roaming about the earth......i mean im not prep im kind of sorta skater/gangsta well im a mix of different things but i hate preps they drive me up the wall. why does everyone like them so much. people think emos cut but it's not just emos ok it's also the popular preps that are always making the emos lives horrible. So why are preps so mean????

A prep thinks that they are better than all the rest. They think that other people are beneath them all the time. They prance around with their cocky attitude trying to belittle everyone. They think that they are smarter than the rest but NOT! You don't have to be a prep to be smart. That's their little gang of smarty preps. They think that they are the best thing that God created. But there are some bad news, we are all created equal. When I was in school, I had preps as well. We all had enough of their cocky attitudes towards other people. So we had to put a stop to that crap. Every prep that we see, we all beat the crap out of them. By doing that, then they saw what it was like to be picked on. I'm not recommending you to do that. But we had no choice. It was either the preps or the hood. And I am a natural HOOD! So you see who won the fight of all the attitudes. What I'm saying is since they want to be pricks, its time to treat them for what they are!

Probably because they insecure. And since they are mean to you, that probably makes you feel insecure, so you take on a new identity as a skater/gangsta or whatever you want to call it. So, they are mean because they want attention, so ignore them and they will eventually move on to someone else. Or just tell them, "You have a lot of growing up to do" and just walk away. Just focus on you and your talents, and then develop those talents and deploy those talents for the benifit of you and those around you. Maybe you are good at math and can become an engineer and solve the worlds energy problems, or maybe you have an artistic gift and will create the next Statue of David, but just focus on discovering what those talents are for now. And remember, there is nothing worse than a fashionable non-conformist. A lot of people who complain about preps being "conformist" are actually the biggest conformists themselves. People are not preps, and people are not skaters; People are people, all together on this short ride, trying to make the most of this mysterious experience we call life. There is more to life than preps being assholes. Discover it.

Wow, this could almost be something I bemoaned in 1982, except for the gangsta and emo thing--they didn't really use those terms then. Preppies, though, were the bane of my existence in the early 80's. Preppies are eternally irritating and easy to make fun of (just watch Animal House and drink in the atmosphere and watch those preps get their comeuppance); I got tired of it and moved on to better things. In fact, if you try to peg yourself as belonging to any particular defined "group" as in "emo" or "skater/gangsta" and the like, you'll find that no one actually fits the ideal mold and they're all trying to fit something they're not to some extent. Best to be yourself. If someone knows you're sensitive to something, they have an easy button to push to control you. Let it roll off your back and stay out of the popularity contest. If they do something that can't be ignored, then let 'em have it in the most appropriate way. But don't let 'em see that they bother you.
P.S. Preppies really are funny in the right situations...I think they know it too. And they overcompensate. And it makes them even more comical, unless they're cool with their niche and not too insecure.

They're so mean b/c they're comfortable with their perfect little lifestyle, and anyone that acts differently scares them. I'm not saying that they get obviously scared and start sweating in that fashsion. So far they're grown up in a material world where everything is taken for granted and everyone has to act a certain way. Anyone who acts otherwise AKA has their own life, compromises their lifestyle. They're mean to those they're scared of. You should be proud to have preps being mean to you.

Because they have had everything handed to them on a silver platter their whole lives. Their rich parents walk around thinking they are better than everyone else. Their kids just learn it from watching Mom and Dad.

I agree with Answer Schmancer. People like that are raised that way. It all comes down to parenting skills. Also, more often than not, people put others down to make themselves look better. Just be true to yourself and you'll be fine.

OKAY ONE!!! EMO IS NOT A ******* VERB, YOU CAN NOT "EMO" AND YOU CAN NOT CERTAINTLY BE EMO, ALL YOU CAN ******* DO WITH EMO, IS LISTEN TO IT!!!!! and two, the preps leave me alone {i listen to a mix of A LOT of music, but a LOT of Emo}, i think the preps leave me alone for the most part because they know ill beat their *** if they try to do anything, but for the most part ignore them!
