I'm pretty sure that identical twins isn't genetic because it occurs when the fertilized egg splits in half on it's way to the uterus. Non identical twins might be genetic, but maybe only from the mom's genes? I'm not sure about that one, but I do think id twins is totally chance.

The chance are pretty low. BUT...it does happen sometimes. My husband has a set of twin brothers and neither one of them have a set of twins. Actually none of his brothers or sister has twins. His grandmother (maternal-mother's mother) had a set of twin boys who died at birth.(Cord Accidents) Good luck and best wishes!

First of all is either one of his parents a twin? It can happen but it might skip generations also. Do some background work on the family to find out.

no, identical twins are not in genses like that, that is a mistake made during early pregnancy, but ferternal twins happen usually every other generation so your chance of having twins is very very slim

I've heard that Twins skip generations which means you wouldn't. I'm not 100 percent sure about this.
