Anne Rice's Interview With The Vampire. That book was only the first in a wonderful series, and I've been tremendously disappointed they haven't made the rest of the series into movies yet. I hope they do one day.

The English Patient (Michael Ondaatje). One of the few movies that I think did justice to the original form. Most movies I've seen that are adaptations of novels just aren't as successful as the book.

The Lord of the Rings...one of the very rare occasions that the movie matched or was better than the book

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, i love that story but they didn't really make the movie the right way. That's the problem with making books into movies, it never comes out right.

The 1995 BBC miniseries version of "Pride and Prejudice" is probably the most authentic adaptation of a novel ever committed to film. But it is five hours long, so the filmmakers had some time to get it right.
