I've been talking to a few Filipinas lately about this very subject. Most want to move to another country. My method has been to tell them that I want to move to The Philippines. Some are happy, most are not. In my experience, all want a better life - but you can have a better life in The Philippines with a 'rich' westener; you don't have to move to america.
also - I recommend against moving a filipina to another country, the culture shock can be too much for them to get over.

It is amzaing to me that we have such a need to put races and nationalities in little boxes . Brian has said on other Post that he thought when he was in the service all the women in the Philippines were prostitutes. Now he has found that they are not and is married to one. I thought maybe he had learned somthing. Today he implies if there is a large age difference then the woman is a prostitute. Brian my best friend in Davao married his wife from the Philippines when he was 61 and she was 25. Last Thursday we celebrated there 20TH wedding anniversary. We need to stop generalizing. All types make up races. There is not one pattern or mold. Not all Blacks are criminals, not all Italians are members of the mafia, not all Muslims are terrorist, not all Irish are membes of the IRA, not all Jews are good in business, etc.

One person advised you to use your common sense. That is the best advice any of these people gave to you. There are those that are looking for tickets to the U.S. and many that aren't like that. Just use your head and before any big moves, take yourself out of the box and see if she feels the same way that you do for her. The U.S. isn't always what they want. Many just look for love, American or Not. If you meet someone and they fall for you and vise versa, then it's not your nationality that got the both of you together, but your hearts! And remember, not everyone wants to come to the United States. It's a huge difference from Filipino Life. So don't assume that everyone overseas just wants a ticket here either. So good luck!

My Pinay wife and I have been married for 10 years now, and the best advise I can give you is to use your common sense. I've seen guys marry Pinays that were bar girls. Do you think those marriages lasted? Or guys that are in their 40's or 50's and marry a Pinay that is in her 20's. Do you think those marriages worked? Of course they didn't. If your interested in a Pinay then make sure your listening to the head above your shoulders, and not the one below your belt.

First of all, I like Tom 1941 answer.
I am a black american married to a filipina. I am 37 and she is 31.
We both acknowledge our cultural differences.
I Know without a doubt that she is in love with me (smile).
I am well aware of the deception of SOME filipina women out there pretending to be in Love. Very cunning and seductive operating as if she is the Devil's daughter.
Filipina women are very beautiful and SOME of them are excellent and honorable wives.Unfortunately, the whole world is aware SOME of the crafty and deceptive native filipina women out there.
Deception is very evil. there is no excuse for it.
Those who deceive others think that they are winning in life.
They will suffer later on in their life because God is watching.

95% of them are interested in love, with the prospects of a better life a bonus. 5% are interested in a ticket out of there, first, and they couldn't care less who the guy is. I am married to one of the 95%, and happily so.

but if the girl that u met is from the city like angeles city..
from the bar..
forget bringing her in the united states cos lots of insident happen like this...they lie that they love the guy but on the back of their mind is to get to states and hook up with othe guy there.i dont think u will like that...
i guess my best advice is better choose a girl away from the city..they are more innocent and they are not gold digger too.

you can meet all in one place. you won't even know unless you're trapped. good luck! may you find a decent one who'll take you because she truly loves you. there's poverty in the philippines so you can also encounter those women who are dollar grabbers. filipina women in general are wonderful people. you just need luck in finding someone honest enough who would marry you with good intentions and not because she's seein you as a walking greencard

Perhaps one or the other, or all three depending on the girl.
......come on......you know that.
However, despite certain stereotypes and concerns, not everyone (every girl) necessarily wants to leave their own country for America, despite how underdeveloped, or warstricken, or etc., a visitor may think that particular country is.
