People are getting spammed with e-mails that look like they came from my personal/private domain (but they didn't). I know this because I'm getting the out-of-office replies and the spam filter verification requests. When I look at the details of these messages, they were sent by [somerandomtext]@[mydomain].com. Is there some way I can stop this? Or do anything about it?

There's nothing my web host can do about this - the spam is being generated from an smtp server that is outside their control.

The best answer to this question is that there is nothing I can do. :(

1. notify your hosting service andthey are responsible to put a firewall up, or to otherwise block those domains really stealing your domain... They are effectively running an open relay or else permitting a spoof site to steal your domain...
a. they fix it, or b. you move it!

2. If you host your own domain, from a server on your connection, then you really should have a FREE IPCOP box, so you can log and reject those spammers!

once you've your actual call listed with Yahoo as Umar Mansoor, then if the spammer had gotten your password and were mailing the junk mail to you out of your own account, your Inbox might want to practice it as having been despatched from Umar Mansoor. That incontrovertible truth that it truly is largely showing your e mail handle means that their spamware is merely forging recipients as senders.

They are probably just spoofing the email address to make it look like it came from your domain. If you look in the header of the email, you can see the IP address from which the email was sent.
