I have a great relationship with my step son. I just don't know how to break the news to him. I am a little afraid how he will react to the news. Help please.

How old is the child?
I would say that the best way of telling him is face to face if possible. reassure him that you love him and that your love for him will never change and cannot be replaced. Tell him that you have met someone and that you will be getting married soon. Tell him that he should not feel threaten by this and that you would like him to be involved in the wedding (grooms man, ring bearer) beacuse he means so much to you.
Tell him that he's your family and that now his family has gotten bigger. Tell him that you would like him to meet this person and that he will always be welcome into your new household. ALWAYS and no matter what.
The key is not to make him feel excluded or replaced and to reassure him of your inconditional love.
Your story has brought tears to my eyes. I'm delighted to see that they are still decent men in the world.

I hope hes met the new gf, she won't be called mom so its not as big a deal as when you married his mom. Introduce them if they haven't met yet and then in a week or two tell him you hope he likes her because you do, very much, two weeks after that with maybe another day in the park , tell him you like her so much you want to marry her and have her be part of your life too, just as he is. And that he will always be. That's really what he will worry about, if you will continue to see him. Once you promise to, please, please keep your promise.
If you will be moving away from him or your new fiance doesn't want your stepson in her life don't make promises you won't keep. Just tell him he will always be in your heart and you will keep in touch, it will be hard on him, but its better than lying.

Confused, he will take it okay. Just sit him down and explain that you and his Mother are no longer together and that now you have found a woman whom you love and would like to marry. Tell him he will always be in your life no matter what and that you still love him. Good Luck
