I had a c-section 9 months ago and i just want to know if after a while you have to get it checked by a doctor or not further check is needed. I had it checked 2 times after I was released from the hospital but I never asked after the last visit if i needed to come back in the future just for a check. also, is there any possibility for a c-section to open unexpected?

You shouldn't have to have it checked again. If you have went this long without it coming open then you should be okay. I'm so happy for you!!! Enjoy your sweet new bundle!

By 9 months post-partum, my c-section was completely healed. I had two check-ups--one at 2 weeks post-partum and one at about 2 months post-partum. There were no follow-ups after that, but like I said, I didn't need them. If you are having problems with your incision, call the doctor and make an appointment to have him/her look at it. It should not open unexpectedly, and you should have only a scar at this point. No redness or seeping. Make sure you get checked out if you have anything like that. Best of luck...

After my last post partum visit I never had to worry about the scar or incision. If the doctor did not ask you to come back you probably don't have to worry about it. When you go for your annual exam they may take a peek at it if you had any problems. It should not open back up. I have had two c-sections without an issue.

I was checked at my post partum 6 week visit. I have not had any problems and my kids are 2 years and 3 months.

i had a csection with my first baby and only had one check after i left the hospital everythings fine i dnt think you need a check one the stiches are out i got pregnant with my second baby when my daughter was 9mths and am now pregnant with number 3 after a normal birth after csection. :)
but i think your just fine
