If you call or email Microsoft technical support and provide them with some information that they will ask you for, then they will mail you a new disk.

A comment on what some people said about downloading a WinXP CD image being illegal, it is not, only installing WinXP without a valid CD-Key is illegal. I have downloaded WinXP images before from a MSDN site through a service that I was subscribed to. The service also provided me with a legitimate WinXP cd-key, along with a number of other Microsoft Products.

I have lost many Windows disks in the past and there is many different ways to replace them. Good luck getting yours replaced!

There is is way. If you bought the computer from a retailor such a HP or Dell, then you can contact them for a "Recovery Disk" that has windows on it. It may cost $10 but it is still cheaper than buying windows. I'm not 100% sure they will give you one, but worth a try and the money you would save.

There is, but it is illegal. You can download Windows XP CD images off of any Peer-2-Peer network and find serial numbers too.

Yeah, it's legal to get the CD, since they sell Product Keys on the Microsoft website. Unfortunately, I can not assist you in getting the CD.
