I understand Rudy is an emotional and magical movie for football fans but I’m having trouble understanding how Sean Astin was able to play one down in a real college football game? He is an actor – not an athlete. Was Notre Dame the least bit concerned he could have gotten hurt? How about the real practice squad players? Weren’t they upset an actor got to play a down of football and they did not?

He didn't play with the actual team. They filmed in the stadium full of fans, but the footage shot was not an actual game. That's against NCAA rules!

Are you KIDDING?! Did you even WATCH the Sugar Bowl?! Sean Astin would have been the best ND player on the field that night.

All the football you see was filmed during halftime at a real game. That game, the real one, wasn't against Geogia either.

Its a movie for a reason.
They just wanted someone who had actiing skills.
The whole part of the movie was to prove a point that
follow your dreams and they might come true
