Because they're told as children not to show emotion when they are upset. Boys and men don't cry. They weren't allowed to cry but fighting and rage was acceptable. They need better coping skills.

Like the idiot with the first answer, not many of us men were encouraged to take a balanced look at things. Not many men are contemplative because most men consider you week if you use your intellect. Plus, most fathers are either too uneducated or unwilling to do the right thing by raising their sons to be level-headed thinkers.

I used to blow up at the slightest things and is it a coincidence that my father still acts the same way? Who knows. After spending countless thousands of dollars on psychotherapy, 32 years of drug abuse, and moving from relationship to relationship, job to job, state to state, at the age of 47, I have come to terms with my anger to the point where it is just another emotion and I have a choice over acting out on it or not. Before, I had no control.

I'm lucky to have survived it, not all men are willing to go the distance toward resolving their anger issues. They rather stay in their own hell.

Men most likely have anger issues, because men are driven by testosterone and other "uncontrollable" forces, and that men are inherently dangerous. As a result of these beliefs, men are taught to conceal their emotions from others, keep their distance in relationships, and be tough.

Some women have anger problems too.

My husband doesn't have an anger problem. He has a sulking problem. I don't have an anger problem; I have a cleaning problem.

I think they have anger problems because that is just the way they were born! I guess!

Its all that testosterone.

They either need to release the excess several times a day (ahem...) or else they just start throwing helpless anger tantrums.

That's men for you. ;o)

Because men are tired of women trying to make men more like women.

It depends on what you mean. Not all guys do, although it seems like it. I don't really know but maybe it's something you did to upset him. Or maybe he had something gone wrong and he needed to take it out on something. Sadly, you apparently. So, I dunno. Just their attitude, something happened, or you did something to piss him off or someone else did.
