Are you even boyfriend/girlfriend (exclusive) now? If not, then you'd better get that straightened out first. And let him be the one to pursue it. If he doesn't, keep your dating options open, baby!

I must object to the advice in several of the answers above mine. Once you've been together a few months, it's not too early to START talking about these things. In the early stages, though, keep it light. Ask him questions like, "Do you imagine you would want to get married if the right person came along?" If the questions are sufficiently general, not pointed, and asked in a relaxed manner, using a tone like they're just hypothetical, you can use them to learn a great deal about where someone is in his life. Unless it's one of your first couple of dates, it's never too soon to start finding stuff like this out about each other.

I don't think you should worry about that. There are signs that you know it will go some where. Just being together is a sign that it will go some where. I know it is hard I always want to ask my boyfriend if he see's me in the future with him. But I don't ask it is not worth getting the weirdness and since I know he wouldn't be with me if he didn't see it going some where.

As soon as the relationship starts sailing in a new direction that is not positive or long lasting for you.

Yup wait, if you rush it, you could push him away! Be patient, if after a year nothing has been said, then bring it up. If you last a year, then maybe it is going somewhere. What do you expect after only a couple months?

Don't get ahead of yourself!
While it's fun to dream, just enjoy yourself for the first year. Until then you shouldn't have to wonder if he's going to be there. Enjoy him, but don't get ahead of yourself by planning the future. Enjoy the life you have NOW.

Why don't you just enjoy where you ARE, and let where you are going reveal itself as it comes. Not every relationship is meant TO go anywhere. Are you happy? Is HE happy? That is all that should matter.

By the time you know you have a relationship your history will tell you where your future lies.
