I have heard several people tell me that when they hear ringing in their ears that someone is going die? My mother told me it's an old wives tell. Is it true?

No it isn't true, but wouldn't be cool if it was.

But, there are a few reasons why you would hear ringing in your ears.

Dude, if that's true, then most people who rode a plane are going to die... But I guess everyone dies eventually and everyone will hear a ring in their ears, but to your answer, I thought it was if you hear a wispher in your ear you are going to die...

I heard it means somebody is talking about you. And further, if you ask somebody to give you a number between 1 and 26 off the top of their head, that letter of the alphabet is the initial letter of the name of the one who's doing the talking.

When I experienced the death bell, it wasn't a constant ringing in the ear, but a single ring as if someone had a crystal bell beside my head and it was struck. This would repeat every 20 seconds until 3 rings were heard. Several hours would pass and I'd hear it all over again. This happened several times throughout the day. I've heard of death bells before but didn't really believe in it until it happened to me. That night will driving down the road I heard it for the last time, two days later my uncle had passed away. I'd say if you never experienced it yourself, you will probably not believe in it. I know I didn't, but I do now.
