This question cannot be accurately answered if you do not tell us what state you are referring to but in general its 18. Some places 16 hence we must know what state.

It probably varies from state to state, but it's usually 16 or 17.
Before you do, though, figure out what it takes to make a living in this world. Get the rental cost for a bare-bones small apartment or a dumpy little house trailer somewhere down by the tracks. Then figure out what the payment would be on a 7 year old car. Factor in gas, utilities, taxes, food, clothes, rent, etc, and see how much it would cost to live dirt-poor. Can you find a job that pays that? Or will you still live at home? Maybe for the next 15 years, too?
Or maybe you'll just stay in school, and tough it out like an adult.

you legally have to be in school until your 18...16 in some states without parental permission....why would you want to quit school?? if you can't finish high school what do you plan to do...mcdonald's doesn't even hire anymore without a diploma
ps:...quit doesn't have an "e" on the end....maybe you should stay in school

If you quit school prior to 18 you need permission to do so in this state.
CHeck out the laws of your own state.
Here it will compromise your driving rights too!

you have to be at least 16. if you are asking this for yourself, please dont quit school. you need it. most jobs now require at least a high school diploma and that is just for minumum wage. nowdays a BA degree is what you need to make top dollar and compete in the professional workforce amongst other applicants.

Depends on the state. However, since you can't even spell "quit", do you think it is the best idea?

Why would you want to. You would be ruining your whole life. It is harder to get jobs if you didn't even graduate high school! Stay in school!
