I'm 19yrs old girl, and my bf is 33. Let me ask you, who put the rule of age?, who put all couple relationships rules?
Of course the more things they have in common, the better thier relationship gets, but for me, I believe this only goes on things of choice, like believes, thoughts, interests.. etc, and doesn't include things out of choice like age, race, location, language, and even religion. Love can float over all this and live life long. So, age? it's a Big number, that count our days of breathing, but not of real living! only love does that! So, if there's a rule of age! break it up, and live Your Life, that we live only once, like you want!
Wish you best life with best love, that makes you sleep smiling and wake up smiling, every day! :)

My personal feeling is that anything over 10-12 years will be a problem when you are older. I was in a relationship with a man 20 years my senior. At the time I was 42 and he 62. Big age gap seems more evident as you age. I ended the relationship, not because I didn't care for the man, it was just I could not imagine myself being fullfilled or happy with a man who was 72 when I am 52. I decided to date men within a 10 year age difference, only because I want someone to grow old with, not watch grow old. Like I said, just my opinion after going through it.

Only people who are desperate to justify big age gaps fall back on that fallacy that "age is just a number". Sorry, but age is experience, wisdom, living, devoting time to attain goals, building a sense of self, gaining a sense of maturity that only comes with years. A teenager hasn't experienced the character growth of a person pushing 30- so age is much more than a "number". Don't be so quick to dismiss the maturity that comes only with time.

You are right, in my experiences, age was nothing but a number. Such a cliche, but so true. In retrospect, most of the relationships I had were with someone who was older (in some cases MUCH older) than I. It all depends on your personality and maturity level, also. I found that dating someone my own age just didn't excite me mentally, which of course is linked to emotions. Good question! Take care. :)

In of itself your right - age really doesnt matter, especially as you get older.
Problems can arise however as far as emotional maturity..one of you may be wanting something very natural for your age (like comittment) while the other may just want to date around or date others..which is fairly natural for younger people.
If you can work that one out then you've got a good beginning for a relationship.

18 and 28 is all about the young years of your life. when you get older that much of a age difference seems smaller and less like a big deal. i still think that girls that are like 20 marring guys 50 is just disguisting becuz they're old enough to be their father. that's when age difference becomes a BIG deal and is more noticeable. i guess it's just each to their own.

I too believe that age is just a number. If you both get on and are on the same page then age really should not come into the equation.

I don't see a problem with a 18 year old person dating a 28 year old. But a 18 year old dating a 50yrs old person i do have problem with.I'm ok with young person dating older person dating when both parties are of age and there ain't to much age gap.

Yes, I still believe that love has nothing to do with differences of age, race, color, creed, height, weight, heritage, background, culture, and status. As long as two people love each other beautifully and unconditionally, that is all that matters in this world.
