If a guy wears 2 earrings is he saying something about himself
that others will understand as a sexual preference.
Or do they have to be a certain style of earring before a statement
is being made?

It is probably just a fashion statement. Different ways of wearing earrings would mean different things in different communities, so this way of transmitting a message would be too vague to attract a partner or to scare others away.
Don't believe the "secret message" nonsense and ask if you are unsure! If he really wants to say something through his jewellery, he probably half expects requests for clarification anyway. ;o)

When I wear earrings the only statement I make is "look at my diamonds." Other than that, nothing else.
A "sexual perference statement?" Child, that went out with the '70's, dear god, get with the times. Earrings don't mean anything besides "I have a hole in my ear."

No - a guy wearing and earring on his right ear is making a sexual preference statement. Both ears or left ear? doesn't matter.

Adam, your answer is perfect. Well said! I agree whole-heartedly. The notion that a guy with an earring or two is implying something about his sexuality is such an old, worn out myth, it's hard to believe that some people still believe it. If anything, a guy with earrings is saying, "I'm confident, I've got style, I feel good about myself, and I don't give a damn about what anyone else thinks."
