FDR, Lincoln or Kennedy...because they did not use their position as President to try and force their own personal agendas on the American Public.

I guess you're going to get a lot of people who only choose one they can personally remember because they don't know any history, but the man for these times is Theodore Roosevelt, a compassionate nature-loving man who was an expert at foreign policy and protecting U.S. interests. "Speak softly and carry a big stick" was his motto. Mine too.

P.S. We could also not go wrong with Lincoln or Reagan. Many will overlook Thomas Jefferson, but he would be a whiz at writing the new anti-terror rules.

G Bush...
Kidding..
But in his defense, not too many presidents have had to deal with the turbulence he has has to deal with.
After all, he HAD to act on 9-11. Else he would have been shot down for doing nothing.
Katrina. Who would know he would be responsible for poor planning by the individual politicians in the effected states.
And then the legacy of an easy ride with Clinton. Clinton had NOTHING on his plate that was pressing, and as such "rolled" through his terms, handing off a country settled in on Clintonomics. These points could be argued indefinitely.

Probably Nixon. He got caught, but was a hell of a politician.

Lincoln, our final left-wing president, from the time while capitalism nonetheless had some revolutionary aspects left. If the extremely-genuine started something, he'd brush the whining liberals aside and supply the teabaggers the Atlanta medical care that they so richly deserve. Um, so some distance as Clinton is going... peace? Are you kidding? He bombed Iraq (as his FIRST actual act, interior of minutes of his inauguration!), Afghanistan, Chad, Sudan, Bosnia, Serbia, and Texas. .

I'd have to go with Franklin D. Eisenhower. No president is perfect (and with today's media we're can be more invasive to candidates before electing them), but FDR did try to keep us out of a war (tho some say it was him just being stubborn and isolated), and with all his reform programs and guidelines to make them effective, he did more than any president since to make and keep this country strong...for all citizens!

Reagan because like the other person said "he did not take crap off anybody." I don't think he would stand for this immigration crap either. You notice that Kadafhi of Libya has not offered to even sneeze at us - do you know why? He opened his piehole once and Regan bombed the crap out of him. Now he is scared. Does that tell any of you lily-livered liberals anything????
