Not only white people, but all races are descended from Africans. The first migrations out of Africa occurred about a million years ago, when homo ergaster, a primitive human ancestor, migrated out of Africa into Europe, where they evolved into Neanderthal Man, and into Asia, where they evolved into Java Man. However, these archaic species were eventually replaced by homo sapiens, who migrated out of Africa about 50,000 years ago. Those who settled in Northern Europe lost their skin pigmentation because of reduced exposure to sunlight at high latitudes. The white people also developed long noses and thin lips as an adaptation to the cold. However, all races are homo sapiens, who recently migrated out of Africa, so all human beings are basically Africans.

If you think I'm making this up, do some research on the evolution of humanity.

There is currently a huge research project underway by a doctor affiliated with National Geographic that is named the Genographic Project. It's premise is that we all originated in Africa and as people migrated out of Africa, genetic mutations happened and he is tracing these mutations to track the progression of peoples out of Africa (a basic explanation). For a fee, you can send for a DNA swab kit that you can send in and they can analyze your DNA and get the results back to see the journey your ancestors took out of Africa. It's pretty cool... go to the site and check it out!

There is also documentary that aired on the National Geographic or Discovery channel that brings you to remote regions of the Earth in search of those gene mutations. That video is part of the package when you purchase the DNA kit from National Geographic.

i don't think ur making this up cause i have read about it. But those who migrated a long time ago didn't look like us that much, they were more like apelike people looking things. And you said they evolved into the Neanderthal man and then later evolved and eventually they were in Northern Europe. Well according to my "Atlas of Past Times" book ( a collection of maps about the population in the beginning of time and the history of how we came to be and about some important wars) Humans evolution began more than 5 million years ago. the first REAL humans appeared 2.4 million years ago in east africa. by 100,000 BC the began to migrate out of africa. modern humans decended from "graciles" which came from Austrlopithecus afarensis. true about the pigmentation part and our skin changing and all. but white people AREN"T Africans. 5 million years ago they were but not 5 million years later. because probably (im just making a guess) about 2.4 million years ago their skin started changing. All the Africans that live here in America don't have changing skin color. All races are descended from Africans but that doesn't make them African. Kinda like how there were many speices before of what is known as the modern man. but that doesn't mean we all are still ardepithecus ramidus ( the oldest human ancestor yet discovered) like dogs descended from wolves, doesn't mean they are wolves.

I'm aware of this, but obviously a lot of the world isn't since we are still pushing the bs of prejudice and racism all over the world. Honestly, it may seem sappy and weak, but the whole the inside it all that counts thing is true. We've all got the same organs, same large brain that makes us human.

Also, that was less of a question than a tirade, but a point that should be broadcasted worldwide.

Oh, I believe you, but I think your dates are mixed up. Humans evolved from a common ancestor millions of years ago. According to scientific evidence (i.e. the fossil record and artifacts), much of early human evolution occurred in Africa. Early humans inhabited Africa for a long period of time, but they eventually migrated out of Africa into Asia and Europe.

Frankly, I think it is insulting (I am sure you mean no insult) to Africans to assume that modern man came from Africa. There is a built in prejudice for modern humans to have come from Africa without very much evidence in my opinion. Ergaster lived a couple of million years ago. There is conclusive evidence that it or possibly H. habilis migrated to Europe, (i.e Georgia) nearly 2 million years ago. Why is that they can't evolve in Asia and migrate back to Africa. Clearly there were erectus in Asia well over a million years ago. Just because they found the oldest modern human in Africa doesn't mean that our ancestors came from there it simply means they might have. They may very well have been living in Europe and Asia continuously for millions of years with lots of migrations back and forth. It seems to me that sometimes their desire to place humans as coming from Africa lies in a prejudice that more "primitive" people and our nearest living ancestors are there. I think the evidence is simply to incomplete to conclude that. I do agree with you that whites evolved certain features to adapt to their non-tropical environments as did Asians (orientals) and others.

we were animals before that, some symbolic effort to expose the current line of animal to man is Peking in the middle east~slowly Neanderthal man was a humdinger of a monster at nine foot tall it would be hard to want to share the cave your spouse is in with a guy like that, it wasn't who had what color back then it was who was the biggest and the Neanderthal lost the battle or we would be facing a future with this genetic link also

No, I don't believe that you are making it up. Learn as much as you can, and stand your intellectual ground. Because there are acyually people out there that think the Earth is 6000 years old, and fossils of neanderthals are not 100,000 years old, they're just from arthritic cripples.
Beware the onslaught!

My guess is different breeds of monkeys evolved separately and turned into Asians, Africans and Caucasians. This African theory is a politicaly correct trend. Everybody knows of Lucy but Lucia found in South America is older.

You know, I am aware of this, but the last time I tried to make this point to an African-American 'intellectual', he said that I was too white to really accept it. Huh?
