Wrong, by whose judgement? It would be helpful if you had an idea of what you like to guide you, so that you don't end up working just for a paycheck. You could try checking out a book like What Color is Your Parachute to help you focus in on your interests and abilities. Lots of people, maybe even most people, don't know what they want to do at that age and later. It's just easier in the long run if you have an idea of what you like or what you can't ever see yourself doing.

I am the same age as you and i am still trying to figure out what I want to be. Just ask yourself one question the next time you think you should have everything figured out.... Do you ever really grow up? You will be always learning more and you will always be doing something new, even if it is at a small scale. Don't worry so much about what you need to be and be satisfied with what you have and whatever happens was meant to be.

I'm over the age of 20 and have no idea what I want to be, either. I think it's normal.

I'm 20 with two kids, and still don't know what i want to do when I eventually go back to work. So I suppose it is normal...or at least common. Good luck...you'll figure it out in time.

Dear Kitty Lucy, It is not "wrong" but it puts you behind in reaching your life's goals. Do you have life goals? If not sit down and make some and keep them where you can see them. Get a good "general college education" . In college you will see opportunities you can never imagine now. And most of all Learn How to Learn. It will pay off in time.

absolutely!!! When I was 20 I think I thought I was going to be a songwriter or a record producer. Didn't find out I was going to be a programmer till I was 36!!! You'll probably explore a lot of things, and change your mind many times.

Not at all, the average person goes through at least three different careers (not including filler jobs) before they find the right career for them.

i think its normal....you may not know now, but maybe its because you haven't experienced enough to want something badly enough to make a career about it. just wait and at sometime it will come to you. GOOD LUCK!!!

It's ok. Try out things you are interested in. You'll know when you do hands on what you like and don't. Good luck!
