I would say the classified ads in your local paper are the best place to start.

Ask around to friends and families...sometimes a good recomendation from someone with in the company will go a long way towards getting you that job.(thats how i got my most recent job)

Online places can be good as well. Monster and CareerBuilder are both good and you can post your resumee so that employers can contact you (a friend of mine got a job that way)

If you have a career path in mind sometimes there are trade organizations that you can join that will look good on a resumee and they often list job postings on thier site...its a great way to network. (these sometimes have dues that youhave to pay though)

If you went to a University they sometimes have people there that can help with job placement.

Good luck looking for a job sucks and it takes time. Send out as many resumees as you can!
