one thing i can tell you ,for sure, is to LABEL all boxes and put WHICH ROOM they go in. it saved us so much time. we had friends help us and all they had to do was look at box and put it in that room! Moving companies have large storage boxes for clothing. it looks like a mini closet. so you just hang your clothes in them and fold lid. i am sure they would sell/give you some.(free if you use a mover) we kept ours and use as extra storage for winter jackets etc.
PACK items well. they will get shook up in the move and may break, chip etc. i tried to mix lighter items on top of heavy items so boxes were not too heavy to lift etc. good luck.

Start with the things you don't use or need everyday. Like decor and such. Pack them in cardboard boxes and label each box as generally what is in it. Then on top put the room where the box should end up in in your new home, "bathroom", "bedroom 1", "bedroom 2". And try not to stress. It is a pain, but you will enjoy your new home. HAPPY MOVING!!

Start with things you can put into boxes. First go out and get boxes. Leave a few dishes until the last day. If it is a cross town move, begin moving many of the hanging clothes. You gotta get with it.

Get the Space bags for summer clothes, since it is winter. It will save room. When I move I leave my clothes in the dresser and just take the drawers out and put them across the backseat of my car and the frame of the dresser goes in the truck. Get some bubble wrap...Walmart has it cheap, for breakables. If you have wine glasses go to a liquor store and get one of the boxes that their bottles come in. Just do a little everynight.

I would recruit family and friends, or pay a couple teens to help with the no brainer stuff (packing clothes, dishes, books, dvds, etc. Provide the wrapping materials, labels, and Pizza!
