First off the guy above me, Doug, knows nothing, I mean nothing about how to act in a zombie apocalypse. Guns are a terrible means of defense. I suggest blunt objects, like a baseball bat or a 2 X 4. Blunt force trauma can subdue zombies very quickly. Plus you won't have to reload. I'd load up on these things, and find a good spot to hang out, as few windows as possible, hunker down and wait. If you're feeling adventurous attempt to escape to a secluded, zombie-free island. That way you can live your days out in peace, unless they learn how to swim, then God help us all. Read "The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks for more info.

I would definitely not just stand around an let my brains be chewed out by the undead. I would find the most remote way to a strong 2 story house. Kill the inhabitants (well if the are undead). Stock the 2nd story with as many suplies as I can, Destroy the stairs and wait.
If by the end of the ordeal a gun barrel looks tastier than human brain so be it.

I'd make some coffee, drink it on my front porch, enjoy the stench of freshly rotting corpses for a bit and then I'd get a ballpeen hammer and start crackin' skulls!

I would not hide. That's the worst thing you can do. Get out in the open. Take it head on.
