Could be many things, but check these out:

1.) check your input power. Do you experience brownouts(low voltage) or voltage jumps(high voltage) and spikes in your AC source? This could affect your power supply voltage levels.

2.) If #1 is OK, you might be experiencing a problem with your power supply.

3.) You've now eliminated # 1 & #2 as causes. You might have an intermittant motherboard problem. The only sure way to eliminate this as a cause is to have the shop replace the motherboard.

4.) Not very likely, but I have had one case where a processor caused the system to reboot.

To help out the troubleshooting process listen to your PC when it reboots. Does the hard drive spin down? Does the power light flicker? Can you establish a pattern?

It is probable that the errors you are receiving are due to the improper shutdown. I am curious about the "restart and pick proper boot device" error. There is an outside chance that the hard drive has an intermittant problem, but I would expect other hard drive errors to show up as well if this were the case. It could be that the bios is selecting an incorrect boot device after reset which would give further credence to the motherboard being bad.

In any case, if the shop cannot fix the problem, it should be up to the seller to replace the PC or give a refund.

HELLO I HAD A SAME PROBLEM EXACTLY LIKE YOU BEFORE
IT IS A HARDWARE PROBLEM
usually the restart is for either RAM or POWER
my problem was for RAM
somtimes it may be for CPU or mother board
but if it restarts when you open a heavy file and you will see "windows has recovered from a serious error" 99% the RAM has a problem
Suggest to take your computer to guarranty

check for these and your problem would get solved.

1. Check for new viruses.
2. Some softwares you have newly installed may cause these type of problems.
3. Not only virsues do these type of mischief, check for spywares too.
4. Finally if none of them works out, try to re install your OS

automatic downloads from Microsoft will do this. Many of them are set to restart the computer to activate them. Microsoft knows that many people never shut down their computers, so they do this to force a reboot to start the software it just installed. You can turn this off so you only get notices about updates, and can do them yourself.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

Either you have a virus, or... your computer's internal power supply is going out.
(I had the same problem and it turned out to be my power supply)
