No answer on this forum would be sufficient, yet a couple things do come to mind. First a person must expect life to be unfair, and thus not be surprised when things go wrong. Second, knowing peace with God through Christ will enable one to weather any of liefs storms with greater capacity and endurance. Many times bitterness is rooted in unforgiveness for another person. When we forgive another, we loose the chains that person has wrapped around us. Lastly, a person who is generous, looking for chances to give, rather than "get" will develop a heart that is pleasing to God. God will in turn grant grace to that person. Where God's grace abounds, you rarely see a bitter person.

Because People Become To Caught up With That Bad Hand. Its Like a 90-10. Your Life Is Like 100% and People Look at that Negative 10 instead of the Good 90! Ones Not Mentaly Stronger its Just the ones that make it Look at the Whole Picture and Dont Sweat The Small Stuff. As Long As you are 6 feet Above The Ground Life Is Always Good: Divorce, Death, Bad Grades, anything.

There are lots of theories about how people handle hard times. The most popular these days, I believe, is one held by the psychologist Martin Seligman, who states that we have optimistic or pessimistic traits (in other words, we are born with them). He has written lots of books on the subject, and he uses as evidence research on identical twins raised in different households, and research on insurance salesmen. He even has started a program at U. of Penn. called Positive Psychology, so we can all learn to reduce our pessimism. Personally, I think his ideas are pretty dumb and contradictory, but if you want an in-depth analysis (even if I or anyone else doesn't agree with it) read some of his books.

i think that some people become bitter because they can't get over something bad that has happened to them.....it might be mentally, but sometimes it isn't, sometimes some people just hold a grudge and at some point become bitter...

Those who are bitter are more realistic about what to expect from others than the Susie Sunshines of this world. Face it, just about everyone will screw you over, if you wait long enough.

Bitterness is a form of laziness, in my opinion, and I think that's why it is so popular. When you let yourself become bitter, it basically means you've given up on finding any kind of meaningful resolution to your problem or situation.
