Our favorite book is "Where the Wild Things Are". It might not exactly be a baby book, but it's one we both like.

Might I suggest taking the little one to the library? Our library has a wonderful children's section. We'll go in and take 4-5 books at a time. We pick a shelf and just choose books that seem interesting to me or that has pictures that the baby reacts to.

Good luck and good for you for reading to the baby!

My kids love The monster at the end of this book...it's a Sesame St. book with Grover...it comes in a board book which is great for babies and toddlers, my son is 4 years old and still LOVES it, so we got him the big version of it and passed the board book down to his sister (4 months old) she loves to listen to it and look at the colorful pictures :)

Brown Bear Brown Bear is also a great one, by Eric Carle (The Very Hungry Caterpillar is also one of his great ones) they both come in board books also.

My daughter is obsessed with the Miss Spider books. I couldn't get her to sit down and read/look at a book for nothing but she just adores the pictures...the pictures are very bright and the stories are really cute.

Not sure if you can find it, but mine was called "But No Elephants" by Jerry Smath. May be more for a toddler than a baby but I still recommend it.
