i am 16 and when i get a hard on i am 6 1/2 inches but somedays i get hard up to 8 inches is that normal

Hard ons usually don't vary an inch and a half. Are you sure you aren't exaggerating about that 8 incher? The average erect size for ANY AGE GUY after puberty is between 5 and 7 inches when erect. If you have an extra inch...no big deal! You ain't no better nor no worse than anyone of any race on the planet. I always say "Relax and enjoy what you have!"

Put away the ruler - SIZE IS NOT IMPORTANT! Focus on maturing mentally and emotionally - your body will take care of itself and grow at its own rate, but you will be stuck in the ranks of the immature little boys if you don't work on things like schoolwork, caring for family and friends, doing your share of what needs to be done at home and school, and paying attention to the needs other people have. If you think with the little head, you will be a little person, no matter what the ruler says.

Yes, its totally normal. You should be happy with your size, and when a penis is erect, it is larger than its flaccid state. Yours grows by about 2 inches. It probably won't grow anymore.
