LOL they look so funny! With my first child I only had one done, but I had some complications with my second so I ended up with 4. The first few are so funny just because they look like little aliens instead of the beautiful baby we end up with. But the last one I had with my daughter was at 35 weeks and she was incredible! It was a 4/D ultrasound and she looked like such a little person it was amazing. Her nose was even all squished up against the uterus, it was cute. We counted 10 fingers and 10 tens and were very grateful to have this sneak peak at our perfect little girl.

Of course you do that.. it's a picture of whatever little human life it is, and you want to make sure that everything looks okay, you want to try and figure out from that blurry picture what the baby looks like.. it's normal. With both my kids, I looked at their sonogram pictures for hours.
