I want to know more about Internet Addiction. Is their anyone here who happens to know or be a Psychologist who studies this area and could perhaps interview? Also I would like to know about any Support groups here in the U.S. for people that are addicted to the Internet. Could you please provide complete info on any of the two above mentioned items? You can also e-mail me if you like. Thank You for your time and concern, I really appreciate it.

I think for something to be an addiction, there has to be a pay off for you doing it. (there's the obvious drug and alcohol pay offs, and shopping addicts love the high they get while buying things.) So. . .I don't know, i guess you can be addicted to the internet. But I think it would be certian sites specificly. .. cars, scrapbooking, porn, flirting with other people. So is it the internet that is addicting, or what one is going to the internet FOR?

The first step is that you should not correspond via email. Have the person call you.
