Typically, an above average IG is 116 and up, since the average is 100 and there is a 15 point spread (called a standard deviation) that goes from 85-115 in which 68% of the population falls. Only 16 percent of the population has an IQ over 115, so that is considered above average. If you add another standard deviation of 15, you have a significantly high IQ at 131 and above.

To fully answer your question, it is possible to score lower on tests as you age. There are several reasons, from being out of school and not taking tests very often to having a slower reaction time with aging. Many IQ tests will ask questions similar to trivia (such as "Who wrote Mutiny on the Bounty" that older folks who haven't taken literature for a while may not remember off the top of their head - although they may remember it in the middle of the night later on. LOL

Some intelligence increases with age, however. Adults tend to reason better than young people. IQ tests have been standardized with both men and women of all ages to ensure both validity and reliability and for the most part, the tests have stood the test.

below 75 is low intelligence
75-90 is below average intelligence
90-110 is average
110-124 is above average
125-139 is highly intelligent
140-180 is genius

Standard IQ tests only go to 180. There are other tests that are available through MENSA which test for higher IQ's

IQ tests are notoriously unreliable and the test results for an individual who repeats the test may vary by as much as 15 points.

I am not sure, but I dont think that you can really trust all of those IQ test popups you get as well as anything that you find online.

Asking to define certin shapes and angles does not show the intelegence of a person.
