It may be a sprain. If the dog is still limping in 3 days,,take to the vet.Or take the dog in now if it seems really painful to the dog. Also check the paw for sliver or other foreign matter. Also check the nails,,may have pulled one.

Did she just have shots? Sometimes they cause numbness in a leg. Or she may have jumped off a chair or sofa and twisted the leg. Just try to keep her from running around a lot. Sit with her and keep her calm. Maybe a nice chew toy will keep her occupied and still for a while. If she is not better in a couple of days, call the vet. This does not sound like an emergency situation. I think she will be ok in a few days. My dogs do this often.

I would give the dog about another hour to see if it starts putting weight on it, They could have slept on it the wrong way or could have sprained it. If it doesnt get better I would take it to the vet, it could be a serious problem. But for now I would rub its leg and see if there is any spots more tender than another because it could be even broken. Good luck

There are so many reasons this could have happened that I don't even know where to start. Make an appointment for your vet's office. He could have torn a ligament, he could have luxating patellas (fancy words for knee caps popping out of place),if you live in an area where Lyme disease is a factor you should also consider that as an option. If you have stairs, he could have fallen. If you have an old dog it could be arthritis. There's so much that an office visit is your only option. Hope this helps.

Take him to a vet. I had the same thing happen with my dog and waited a year before it got bad. Today I bring him home from having his leg amputated.

Check for a thorn or something on the bottom of his foot...maybe he doesn't want to put it down because something is acausing pain. If you don't find anything, and he is still doing this tomorrow, then take him to the vet.

"thanks for taking so long to answer me everyone, thanks a lot. My dog just died." Wait a minute. It's the fault of the people on Answers that your dog died???? No. It's your fault. You sat on the computer rather than take your dog to the vet. Take responsibility for your own inaction.

No one can tell you what is wrong or what happened. Take your dog to the vet.

he could have a sticker in his paw, but there are a million things that could be wrong. check between the pads on his feet and if you don't find anything and he still won't walk on it then maybe consider taking him to the vet.

Feel the leg and see if you find anything, watch for him to wince and look inbetween his toes to see if something is stuck there, or if he cut himself. Examine the bottom of his paw looking for something stuck or a cut. If it keeps up and you find nothing, you will have to get him to a vet.
