Yes, kidney stones can be quite large.
Most of the time, people won't notice they even have one until it moves in the kidney.
They usually say that bigger is better in this case, because larger stones won't shift as much as small ones.
I had one that was about 1 inch in size, and I swear that it felt like a basketball was in my kidney!

Good Luck and I hope this helps.

If a kidney stone was as large as a gulf ball you won't be alive to tell. Try the spell check next time.

I had a 7cm stone that had to be broken up.It would have ripped me to pieces if I had tried to pass it. It looked like a silver dollar on the hub x-ray.
I guess there could be stones as big as golf balls. They sure do feel like golf balls to someone who has one.But any stone regardless of size,is very painful and should be seen by a kidney specialist.kidney stones,if untreated, can cause permanent damage to your kidney...So, Please see a doctor...

Yes they can. Mine wasn't quite that large, but it had spurs all around it and had to be surgically removed. Never, and I do mean never do I care to go through that again.
