I have a budget of somewhere around a thousand dollars and i need to get a convertible tablet pc. i need one that can read my handwriting, long battery life, lots of memory, and I need one that will last a really long time without breaking down. I do not want gateway and the lighter the better, but it does not really matter. I also don't care how big it is. Please answer. Thanks...

I am guessing for cheap convertible tablets you can check ebay. But BEWARE! Many are in cheap condition too. Make sure you communicate with them and find out the absolute stats on the laptop.

There is nothing you can get for under $1,000. Maybe around $1,200. The extended battery brings the cost up and so does the additional RAM.

Try www.govconnection.com and search for Table PC's you can search by criteria using the left hand column.
