ok... i am new to his books. My mom just got me started on them... i personally like all the ones i read... my favorite is definitely 4th of july... i was hooked. I need the next one really bad!!! Than i like 2nd chance, and roses are red!

I like them all, but after you have read a few of them, you get the formula down pat and they stop being exciting. The two he did that were not mysteries ("Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas" and "Sam's Letters to Jennifer") were good, the first one was better. Of the mysteries, "The Thomas Berryman Number" steps away from the formula. The Gary Soneji ones were the best of the Alex Cross books.

I just finished reading Cross and it was fantastic! I love all of the Alex Cross books. The Beach House was really good also. Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas is a wonderful book but such a tear jerker. Cradle and All was really good just a little disturbing though. I can't pick one favorite, I love them all. He's my favorite author and I love everything that he writes.
Shame on the person that said his writing is unreadable.

Patterson knows nothing of police procedure. I find his books unreadable, he gets so many details wrong

Beach House was my favorite. Written very well, kept me entertained, I couldn't put it down.
