This only annoys me when it's said by a high schooler or someone still living at home with their parents. In other words, when it's said by people not responsible enough to take care of themselves, let alone a helpless child.

Depends on the reason- for myself, I wanted to have kids young as my mom did with me (she was 19 when she had me)... but my reason being because I wanted to be there those extra years with my children- I didnt' want to be really really old when I had a baby because then I wouldn't get as much time with them. I am almost 25, and my son is 15 months... I wasnt' as young as my mom was when she had me, but I love my son with all my heart, and I never want to leave him. I feel empty when I'm away from him- even for a short period of time! I have a lot of love to give, and I love the bond I have with my son already... so this is my personal reason I wanted to be young when I had children. (not saying I wanted to be 16- anything that young), but the more years I get with my children, the better.
So no, I don't hate it when ppl say that- I just have to know the reason they say that first. If they are mature and can support a baby, then fine, it's ok.

Um no....I always said I wanted to have kids young and I am 21 with my second on the way! If they are like 15, then no they shouldn't be having kids, but saying they want them young (after established with a good job and a good man) go for it! My family is finacially comfortable and perfectly happy.
I work at a state medicaid and it isn't "young" women having babies you need to worry about with your tax dollars....it's immigrants coming here to pop out kids like the end of the world is coming to get all the free benefits.

I think that everyone has different opinions. I guess you're going to hate this, but I did want to have kids young and I am. I will be 21 when my baby is born and I have my reasons for it. I want my parents to be around to have grandchildren because of health issues, and I am ready. People mature at different ages and as mentioned before, have their reasons. If you don't want to have children young, that is your decision and I beleive that is fine for you, but not everyone else.

Depends on how young...if they are an adult, and they are truely mature, responsible, and stable (financially and emotionally), then sure. But, no matter the age, if they are not ready for any reason, they shouldn't have kids. They can never take it back, and their kids won't get as much out of life as they deserve.

No because just because someone is young doesnt mean that the taxpayers are gonna have to take care of them. A married person with insurance can be age 20 and is still young.

No, I really don't care what other people want to do with their lives. If they are ignorant enough to want to be a teenage parent they deserve what they get, but it isn't my problem. I don't even pay attention to remarks like that. People can't understand how hard it is to care for a child 24/7 for the rest of their lives if they haven't ever done it. I choose to ignore ignorant comments, and they they don't bother me in the least.

Not really. They just want to be able to play with their kids and stuff. When MOST people say that, they mean they want to have kids when they are like twenty-two or something.

depends on how young they are when they say it. 13-17 is young to me. but when you're over 18 its really your own decision.
