Has this happened to you? Which song? For me, it's Fields of Gold...the Eva Cassidy version...that made me cry the first time i heard it. Our Year Head put it on the DVD he made when some of our year went to Belgium...it reminds me of the great times we had and it made us all get emotional...

"You Are My Sister" by Antony and the Johnsons.
That guy's moving voice just makes me cry every time - plus I lost my brother a few years ago. I am ardently anti soppy so it shocked me when I started blubbing.
Sadly, nobody will ever say "you are my sister" to me again :(
Clip below, but you can find it numerous places.

God, I'm going to get shunned because of this.... but here goes:
Man in the Mirror
Michael Jackson
I was in elementary school when I first heard the song. The words are so hopeful and yet so sad.
Most recently, "Numb" by Linkin Park. I bought the album the day it came out and heard that song. It made me cry because the words in that song hit home for me at that time in my life.

Generally i need to hear songs a few times for this to happen.
If it didn't make me cry it did the spine tingle thing (and i was so young i wasn't at school yet so that's pretty impressive) goes to 'The Man with the Child in His Eyes' by Kate Bush. Still makes me cry now so reserved for special weepfest occasions only!

Hurt - Johnny Cash
Watching the video in tandem with listening to the song is so moving, the song carries such a different meaning to the NIN original.
