Many manufacturers and retailers put Owner's Manuals on their website as downloadable PDF documents. Sears is famous for not doing so. In the end, you should be able to have Sears send you a free copy, if you stand your ground. After all, you are their customer. An insistent call to their Customer Service department should do the trick.
Good luck with your problem.

The best and cheapest way to replace your manual is to call Sears and have them order one for you. I just ordered one for my sewing machine and it cost me $15.
I went crazy looking for a cheaper one on line, but after all the shipping charges got added on it ended up costing $15 anyway. Most of the sites had re-prints, but I wanted an original copy.
Hope this helps!

You can order it through kenmore.com site for $10. It's on the 'order parts' page. You might also be able to call sears customer service and ask them to email it to you.
