I don't think global warming is a big threat to the human race, and I doubt their will be much in the way of catastrophic effects. It's not like the ice caps are gonna melt tomorrow, flood my town and drown everyone. Any rise in ocean levels will be very gradual, and if the ice melts eventually areas near the coast now will be have to be vacated.
If global warming is such a disaster then we should be researching ways to cool down the earth's climate.

I study climate change at university. The bad effects are already happening. Within the next two decades wars will be fought over global warming (mainly energy related matters/ fresh food & water).
No one really cares though. There is an old saying: "You can't wake someone up who pretends to be asleep."

Doesn't seem likely. We have calculated that once the CO2 in your planet's tundra is released, it will cause a cascade effect that will release more stored CO2 from your oceans and that may lead to your demise sooner than you think.Over the centuries, your planet was a curious place to visit once or twice and was not considered very interesting . Sure, your wars showed us how undeveloped you are as a species. Your infantile,(in cosmic terms) dependence on god concepts does not bode well for you and neither does your penchant to breed beyond your planet's ability to sustain you. We are now showing an interest in you because it is not often that we get to observe a species commit suicide. You are so close to maturing as a sentient species and it will be a shame to see you kill yourselves. There are just not enough of you becoming rational enough to force the issue. You let the least among you determine your fate, so be it.

nobody knows 2007 is supposed to be the hottest year ever so it could be 2007 and if people keep polluting the enviroment it could happen sooner than we think but if pollution slows the ozone layer can clear up and the world can become more cold stopping glaciers from melting and slowing global warming..being on the computer right now is harming the enviroment

Yes...I do believe that global warming is true, but i dont believe that it is going to kill everyone. Some coastal cities may flood, but people away from the coasts will be safe

No.Don't forget disease, accidents, animal attacks, murder, stroke, cancer, choking, drowning, mysterious poisonings, dehydration, hypothermia, snake bites, electrocution, suicide, and 'natural' causes.
Warming schmarming. Human intervention, or the natural cycle of climate shift? I'm going for climate shift. The orbit of the earth goes from circular to eliptic every 10-20 thousand years. We happen to be headed for eliptical. Yes, polution is a bad thing, but unless you can reverse the elongation of earth's orbit... well crippling the industries that keep life going would be a hollow victory.

Considering the increases we've seen thus far, yes, we will all die of something before it ever gets bad enough to cause threats to humanity.
Well, everyone except Yoko Ono. We'll NEVER get rid of her.
